Spanish as a Foreign Language
The goal of CCLS Spanish Classes Houston is for each student to develop Spanish fluency. Through the interactive approach of CCLS Spanish Classes Houston, graduates are able to confidently represent their business with a natural form of speech which will build relationships with business associates and clients. All classes utilize an interactive approach to enhance Spanish fluency of each student. Teacher interaction is vital to the high success standards set at CCLS.
CCLS teaches the different dialects of Spanish to fully prepare the students for the region they are assigned. Inductive training with ample oral practice is essential to master a new language. Dialogues and phonological exercises help students overcome any difficulties they might encounter in pronunciation.
Confidence is gained from teacher interaction. Concentration on the natural form of speech ensures the acceptance by clients and customers of the ambassadors of your corporation who show they have a high level of Spanish fluency.
APPROACH: An Interactive DVD Program to develop proficiency in listening and speaking. Reading and writing are developed through homework activities. The program focuses on fluency and accuracy.
PLANNING: The program is specially designed to meet the needs of young adults and adults who wish to learn Spanish as a foreign language. It places a premium on speaking and listening skills through total student involvement in class activities. Teaching tools include authentic materials such as cartoons, newspaper and magazine clippings, TV commercials and video clips, featuring informal and formal language. The students practice natural conversation in situations reflecting real life everyday situations.
TECHNIQUES: Natural form of speech in different Spanish-speaking countries is presented in situational dialogues that serve as the basis for all subsequent classroom work. Grammar is presented inductively first, and then explained for further oral practice. The program focuses on teacher-student and peer interaction. Tasks and activities in the classroom range from guided exercises (ex. asking and answering questions from a text), communicative activities (role-play, reports, speech, etc.) to special structural drills (dialogues and phonological exercises which help students overcome pronunciation and grammar difficulties and reinforce the material presented in class).
MATERIALS: Student materials: Textbook, Workbook and CD, Listening Comprehension Practice book, Más Práctica Oral (booklet and CD).
COURSE DURATION: The series is composed of 7 levels of instruction, ranging from Basic to High Intermediate. Each level is taught in 50 hours. Actual program duration varies according to class size, class duration, amount of written work done in class, etc.
COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE: At the end of the course, the students will be able to communicate and to interact in social and business situations. They will have learned enough language functions to enable them to talk on the phone; conduct social and general business conversation with confidence; take part in meetings, lectures and trainings as well as read and write about general and job-related topics.
